Bio-Glass, Eco-Cem, Bio-Luminum
Honored at
Smithsonian/Cooper Hewitt
National Design Triennial
Bio-Glass®, Bio-Luminum™,
and Eco-Cem® have been
inducted in the Cooper-
Hewitt “National Design
Triennial: Why Design Now?”
exhibit, which began showing
on May 14 and will run
through Jan 9, 2011.
Bio-Glass®, Bio-Luminum™,
and Eco-Cem® are featured in
the materials portion of the
Triennial exhibit at the
Cooper-Hewitt Museum – the
only museum in America
devoted exclusively to
historic and contemporary
design. The museum’s
Triennial exhibit will
showcase our products for
eight months in conjunction
with other designers who
work toward addressing human
and environmental problems
across various fields, from
architecture to new media
and landscape design.
Bio-Glass succeeds in red
dot design award
With its outstanding and
innovative design, Bio-Glass
by Coverings ETC managed to
impress the jury of one of
the most prestigious
international design
competitions. In the “red
dot award: product design
2010 Bio-Glass was awarded
the “red dot” quality label
for high design quality by
the jury consisting of
top-class experts. The
festive awards presentation
with more than 1,000 guests
will take place in the Essen
opera house, the Aalto-Theater,
on 5 July 2010. In Essen,
Germany, the 2010 European
Capital of Culture, the
product will then be
presented in a four-week
special exhibition at the
red dot design museum on the
premises of the Zollverein
colliery.

ICFF HONORS COVERINGS ETC
WITH EDITORS AWARD

The highly-anticipated 2009 ICFF Editors Awards bestowed
on CoveringsETC/ECOverings™
the coveted Best-of-Show
Award for “Materials”. The
ICFF Editors Awards Ceremony
took place during the 21st
annual International
Contemporary Furniture Fair
(ICFF) on Sunday night at
the ICFF Exhibitors
Reception at New York City’s
Jacob K. Javits Convention

In concert with green
initiatives, inspirations
and ideas, the Coverings ETC
corporate showroom is a
newly renovated loft space
and a LEED-CI registered
project with the United
States Green Build Council.
Corporate green guidelines
include the implementation
of reuse, reclaim and
recycle mandates during the
restoration and renovation
of all showrooms. Signature
design elements incorporate
skylights and large format
window walls to flood
interior spaces with day
light to conserve energy.

This third party
certification represents a
tangible, credible measure
of achievement in
environmentally-intelligent
design, helping the
conscientious consumer to
select greener products that
embody a broader definition
of quality using Triple
“Top” Line initiatives which
take into account, the
people, the product and the
planet. This benchmark
represents a material that
is designed for
reutilization, not for
landfill. Bio-Glass is C2C
silver tier certified.
